Insomniac Games’ 2014 open-world game Sunset Overdrive is built to allow players a diverse array of choices regarding the protagonist they embody — and that means the dev team had to spend a lot of resources on things like asset creation, animation, audio design and more.

How did they pull it off, and what practical benefits came with designing for diverse protagonists? At GDC 2015, Insomniac’s Adalbert Kinsey spoke to the tools and production processes Insomniac used, and the lessons they learned in the process.
