The Game Awards organizer Geoff Keighley has announced a spin-off awards show aimed at children.
According to a tweet from Keighley, the “Kids Game Awards” will be broadcast live later this year on DreamWorksTV.
Variety has more information on the industry veteran’s latest venture, and reports that the ceremony will be an “all-digital show that will let viewers vote on their favorite video games (in the vein of Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards).”
Much like its more mature cousin, the show will apparently feature special appearances from celebrities, industry names, and musicians.
The show is being produced by Keighley, who will work alongside an advisory board featuring big names including Activision, Nintendo, and Warner Bros..
It’s unclear as to how, if at all, the new show will affect the running of The Game Awards.
